What is TSER? Total Solar Energy Rejection explained

TSER — total solar energy rejection — is the share of the sun's total energy a film keeps out of a room. A film with TSER 54% blocks more than half of the solar energy hitting the glass.

Solar control films work on three fronts: reflecting and absorbing infrared heat, blocking ultraviolet light, and tinting visible light by a controlled amount. TSER measures the combined effect across the whole solar spectrum (300–2500 nm), not just brightness.

The higher the TSER, the lower the cooling load. On delivered projects our films have measured up to 62%.

Comparing films by TSER is the fairest way to compare them. Ask for the number, not the adjectives.
